schedule
- Wednesdays - 12noon - 4:00pm
- It is intended for the Ladder to run every Wednesday until the end of March.
- The Ladder schedule will be posted on the web site and at the court on Mondays.
ranking
- The LO has the sole determination of where any new player will be placed into the ladder, with assistance from the executive if so desired, regardless of the new player's opinion.
- The LO has the sole right to remove a ladder player indefinitely who is determined to be the cause of round robin games not being completed (emphasizing the importance of players advising the LO of their unavailability)
GENERAL GUIDELINES:
The general guideline for establishing the new ladder are as follows:
- The top ranked player in a box moves up to the next box
- The bottom ranked player moves down to the next box
- For the top ladder box, the two bottom ranked players move down
- For the second ladder box, the two top ranked players move up
- For the bottom ladder box, the two top ranked players move up
- For the second last ladder box, the two bottom ranked players move down
If a tie of total points exists, the re-ranking will favor the current higher ranked player
New players may be inserted into a box or players removed from a box for the new ladder, affecting the rankings.
attendance
- Let the ladder organizer know by Sunday if you are unable to play the following Wednesday.
- You will placed on a "slide out" list but will drop one box in ranking to be fair to other players.
- If for some reason you find on Sunday or after that you cannot play the following Wednesday, please try to find a substitute, and mark her name in place of yours on the posted schedule at the court.
- Alternatively, let the LO know and she will attempt to find a substitute for you.
- You will drop down a box in ranking.
- If games start playing earlier than your slot time, then great - but play must finish at the end of your allocated slot time - to keep everyone else on time.
- A player who knows that they will not be available for the next week's ladder (or are dropping out of the ladder) must advise the LO, who will remove the player and re-rank all other players
- A player returning from a one- or two-week absence will be ranked at least one position lower than the re-ranked position when they left (subject to higher ranked new players joining the ladder)
no shows
- A No Show is a player who does not show up for a scheduled game and has not notified the ladder organizer or arranged for a substitute.
- After two no-shows, it is assumed that the player has withdrawn from the ladder, and his or her name will be removed from the list.
game rules/scoring
- Score is recorded at end of play.
- Play will be first to 11 points - no 2-point lead.
- Points are totaled after all three games are playedA maximum of 45 minutes is allocated for each game. At 45 mins the game score will be recorded and the game ends
- Arranging and playing round robin games is the responsibility of the ladder players
